Health & Safety

Pre Care

Please stay hydrated! Hydrated skin is healthy skin and healthy skin heals well.

Consider having a light snack: tattoos on an empty stomach are not recommended.

Please, no caffeine, alcohol, vitamin E, ibuprofen, aspirin or niacin (unless medically necessary) 12 hours before your appointment… as these can cause extra bleeding which will absolutely effect the procedure/my ability to implant pigment in addition to causing poor retention.

Please discontinue use of retin-a, retinol and tretinoin 3 weeks prior.

No Botox/ fillers in the area 3 weeks pre or post procedure.

Post Care

The key elements to healing are:

1. Keeping them clean, as anytime you get a tattoo you run a risk of infection

2. Holding on to as much color as possible, and the factors that we can control that effect retention are sun exposure, sweat, makeup/skincare.

Rest of the day post procedure: with clean hands: blot and or gently wash away lymph with wash provided, apply minuscule amount of aftercare provided to each brow- approximately the size of a grain of rice is enough to cover both brows. Please do not oversaturate.

Day 2-10: with clean hands, wash brows & reapply ointment am and pm.

For the first 10 days: no intense exercising (please do NOT get your brows sweaty) no swimming, no sun, no sauna.

For the first 2 weeks: no makeup/skincare on your brows.

PLEASE do not pick your brows as they heal, please allow any sloughing to happen naturally.

You may not be a candidate for cosmetic tattoo if you are:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Under 18

  • On blood thinners

  • Diabetic

  • On Accutane in the last year

  • Taking immunosuppressive medication or have been diagnosed with an immune disorder

Please read my consent forms prior to booking, and please know that as a best practice: if you have medical diagnoses and or medications that could be an issue, I will always defer to your medical provider & ask for a note. Cosmetic tattoo is an elective procedure, if your health/the healing of the tattoo is in question, I will always err on the side of caution. Thankfully, I am also a makeup artist! We always have the option to set up a brow lesson if we have decided that’s what will be best for you.

If you have had prior work done by another artist, we will need to set up an in person consult, previous work is done on a case by case basis.
